Prisma Platform

3 min read

Public health data in Brazil holds immense potential for understanding how breast cancer care is delivered across the healthcare system. However, extracting meaningful insight from these datasets requires more than technical access – it demands a rigorous methodological approach capable of translating administrative data into reliable analytical evidence.

Prisma Platform was developed to address this challenge.

The project focused on building a structured analytical framework capable of organizing and interpreting large volumes of oncology-related data from Brazilian public health information systems. The objective was to generate robust evidence to support discussions around cancer care, patient pathways, and health system performance.

My primary responsibility in the project was leading the methodological development of the initiative. I conducted and facilitated the technical discussions with the project’s working group, helping to define the analytical strategies, assumptions, and data structures required to transform complex administrative datasets into a coherent evidence base.

Beyond the methodological design, I also played a central role in the operational execution of the project. This included direct involvement in data manipulation and enrichment, the application of business rules throughout the analytical pipeline, and the coordination of key development stages such as interface layout reviews and validation.

In practice, this role combined methodological leadership, data expertise, and product management responsibilities, ensuring that the analytical framework was both technically robust and effectively translated into a usable platform.

This work drew heavily on years of accumulated expertise in the manipulation, integration, and analysis of Brazilian public health databases, including large-scale administrative datasets used to understand healthcare utilization and patient trajectories.

Beyond technical execution, the contribution centered on ensuring that the analytical approach maintained methodological rigor while remaining interpretable and useful for the broader objectives of the project.

PRISMA Onco illustrates how carefully designed analytical methodologies can unlock the strategic value of public health data—transforming raw administrative records into structured insights capable of informing research, policy discussions, and healthcare decision-making.
